TRADITIONAL BRITISH PANTOS: “A SNOW WHITE CHRISTMAS”
STARRING NEIL PATRICK HARRIS AND LINDSAY PEARCE AND “CINDERELLA CHRISTMAS” STARRING FRED WILLARD AND SHOSHANA BEAN
“Snow White Christmas” Opens November 30th and “Cinderella Christmas” Opens December 22nd, at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood
(LOS ANGELES, CA) – AUGUST 23, 2011– Lythgoe Family Productions and Magic Pictures International announce the 2011 holiday season of traditional British family Panto – the premiere of “A Snow White Christmas,” and the second run of “A Cinderella Christmas.”
Neil Patrick Harris has signed on to star in the onscreen special guest role of "The Magic Mirror" in “Snow White,” following in the tradition of several major stars that have played the role on the London stage. Recent Glee Project runner-up Lindsay Pearce will play the title role, and Marina Sirtis, of Star Trek: The Next Generation fame, will star opposite as The Wicked Queen. Rounding out the production is Erich Bergen from Jersey Boys as the Prince.
The production will be helmed by Bonnie Lythgoe from So You Think You Can Dance AU and choreographed by Dancing With the Stars’ Mark Ballas with American Idol’s Michael Orland serving as Musical Director. An updated version of the classic tale, “Snow White” features family-friendly magic, a comedic twist and modern music, including Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, The Village People’s YMCA, and Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Tickets are now on sale for “A Snow White Christmas,” running November 30-December 18 at the El Portal Theatre.
“A Cinderella Christmas,” now in its second season following last year’s successful run, will run from December 22 to January 8 at the El Portal, starring Emmy-nominated comedic actor Fred Willard as Cinderella’s father, Baron HardUp; recording artist and Broadway sensation Shoshana Bean as the fairy godmother, and American Idol's David Hernandez as Dandini.
Both shows will be presented in the style of the traditional British family Panto, a modern musical play based on fairytale stories. A Panto is known for bringing together families with its interactive style and humor that appeals to fairytale fans of all ages.
“Last year’s production of Cinderella exceeded our expectations, and we’re thrilled to continue to bring the family fun of the traditional British Panto to LA audiences with our new production of Snow White,” says Jason Haigh-Ellery, President of Magic Theatre. “Both shows promise to be fun family productions - the perfect holiday present.”
Magic Pictures will hold open auditions for the roles of the “7 Dwarfs” on September 30 and October 1 at Westfield Culver City, where last year a panel of celebrity judges including Mark Ballas, Neil Patrick Harris, Kara Dioguardi, and Mary Murphy, picked the star of “Cinderella” from over 700 performers. A celebrity panel will again be on hand to help choose the standout child actors to star in the seven roles. Leading up to the auditions, Snow White memorabilia will be displayed at the Center, and kids will have the chance to meet Snow White.
Parenting magazine will present the “Snow White Christmas” grand opening celebrity fundraiser Gala on November 29, including a VIP reception, and meet-and-greet with cast members. All proceeds will benefit LA’s BEST After School Enrichment Program. As part of Magic Pictures’ continued community outreach Madame Tussauds, Westfield Culver City, and Bank of America will be donating buses to local schools so that as many kids as possible will have the opportunity to see the shows this holiday season.

LYTHGOE FAMILY PRODUCTIONS 2011 Season SNOW WHITE CHILDRENS AUDITIONS
Lythgoe Family Productions will hold open auditions for child actors for their production of "A Snow White Christmas," starring Neil Patrick Harris and The Glee Project's Lindsay Pearce, at Westfield Culver City on Friday September 30 and Saturday October 1. Celebrity judges include Lindsay Pearce and Mark Ballas. Please RSVP to attend and cover, and of course let us know if you need any additional information on the auditions or the run of show.
Lythgoe is looking for outgoing kids ages 6 to 16, with strong dancing skills, auditioning for the roles of the "7 Dwarfs," celebrity judges Lindsay Pearce, starring as "Snow White;" choreographer Mark Ballas; director Bonnie Lythgoe and musical director Michael Orland. Lythgoe Family Productions and Magic Pictures International is holding open auditions for the roles of the "7 Dwarfs" and other ensemble members in "A Snow White Christmas," running November 30-December 18 at the El Portal Theatre.
A panel of stars and the production team from the show will be on hand to help choose the standout child actors to star in the fourteen roles (two casts), as well as other ensemble roles. Radio Disney will be broadcasting live from the center all weekend, and leading up to the auditions, Snow White and Cinderella memorabilia will be displayed at the Center, and kids will have the chance to meet their favorite characters.

This Friday, April 18 at 9:30pm- Upright Cabaret springs back into action at the Viceroy Hotel with with a special one-night-only benefit for The Trevor Project, CBS star Neil Patrick Harris co-hosts this special Upright Cabaret performance at the Viceroy Hotel, 415 South Belardo Road in Palm Springs, CA 92262.
L.A.'s famed Upright Cabaret continues their season of star-studded shows, poolside at the Viceroy Hotel. White Party's Jeffrey Sanker, along with Upright Cabaret producer/hosts Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel have joined forces with The Trevor Project to present a hip and contemporary social swirl of Broadway and Hollywood's brightest stars performing under the stars to raise money for this extraordinary cause.
The historic Viceroy Hotel provides the perfect backdrop for this special event by making something classic new again. In its 1950's prime, Palm Springs nightlife was almost as popular as its pools. Supper clubs like the Chi Chi hosted all of the great stars of the day and helped define an era of style and sophistication that Palm Springs is now famous for. This era was also a time when Hollywood stars could sing, act, dance... and occasionally tell a few jokes.
Joining CBS star Neil Patrick Harris on stage for this special benefit event will be performances by Ugly Betty's Michael Urie, Tony-nominated Valarie Pettiford (Broadway: Fosse, West End: Chicago, Fosse), Dance club Diva Becky Baeling (CD USA Host, Discovery G Word Correspondent) and Broadway's David Burtka (Broadway: Gypsy), Leslie Odom, Jr. (Broadway: Rent) , Jake Simpson (Star Search Grand Champion, Oprah Favorite), and more to be announced.

USA, National Anthem
I am beyond beyond honored that the head of DirecTV, David Hill, and my EP, Conor McAnally, have asked me to sing the National Anthem at the DirecTV 500 NASCAR race in Martinsville, VA this coming weekend. This will air to over 30 million people on FOX SPORTS. I feel so blessed to honor my country, this very inspired song, my retired General Father, our military, my joy for singing, and all of America in performing this song. Tune in April 2nd, and you will also see my cohost, John Wynn, as the official starter of the race. PLUS you can see some incredible talent on the course...perhaps an introduction to Dale Earnhardt (..8) and other drivers.
